Yazmin Ruiz Daruda

Lead Videographer / Photographer / Editor

Yazmin Ruiz-Daruda first became interested in filmmaking when she was attending Columbus College of Arts & Design, originally matriculating into the school thinking she was going to pursue a career in animation. After taking a video class, she decided to throw herself into filmmaking wholeheartedly. Although this initiative was new for her, it reignited in her a vigor for storytelling that dated all the way back to her childhood. As much as she enjoyed animation, she felt enthusiastic behind the camera.

Around the same time that Yazmin decided to pursue filmmaking, she met Kodjo, with whom she took on a team project. There were challenges that they needed to meet, and in the course of meeting and overcoming those challenges, they discovered a chemistry conducive to the creative process. Likewise, they met even more challenges as they were building their business together – but rather than discouraging them, these challenges only cemented their dedication to filmmaking and entrepreneurship even further. Yazmin earned her BFA in Cinematic Arts at CCAD in 2015.

Yazmin has been happily married to Jacob since 2015, and she started dating him in her freshman year of high school. Sharing everything together, they have grown to become best friends, and they know how to support one another and encourage one another to follow their dreams and live up to their full potential. Yazmin keeps God at the center of her life and has been blessed with her beautiful boy, August, in 2023, as well as getting to work with her husband and being able to spend more time together. Yazmin also has four furbabies: 1 is an Australian Shepherd Blue Merle named Malcolm, and three cats, Jinx, Francis, and Pabu.
